Carmen SolorzanoGreetings! Highlighted by a keynote speech by Edward M. Copeland, III, M.D., the Woodward Society Spring Meeting was held in Gainesville on March 16 and 17. Approximately 40 attended and heard Dr. Copeland speak about his experiences on managing highly motivated individuals and motivating highly intelligent individuals. St. Patrick's Day's first session was led by the all-Irish panel of Amy O'Meara Stevens, M.D., J. Patrick O'Leary, M.D., Tony McDonald, M.D. and Timothy Flynn, M.D., who discussed medical error reduction, patient safety and prevention. Thank you to all of the faculty who participated and in particular the multiple surgical alumni speakers including Juan Cendan, M.D., N. Joseph Espat, M.D., Joseph Gallagher, M.D., Mark Kelley, M.D. and Rabih Salloum, M.D. who took time to travel to Gainesville and talk to us about the latest in surgical techniques, molecular tumor targeting, surgical quality and education. While attendance at this event increases every year, we have space for many more. Please plan to join us next spring to be a part of this exciting and informative event.
