UF in Bloom — Second Annual All
Access Pass: March 23–24, 2012

UF in BloomEighty-five women attended this year's UF Women symposium, reconnecting with old friends and making plenty of new ones. The weekend started with a sneak peek of the Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art's new David A. Cofrin Asian Art Wing, which opened to the public a week later.

The guests enjoyed hearing from UF faculty and students from the Levin College of Law's Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Clinic and the director of the Arts and Medicine program at Shands. A panel of UF experts discussed innovations in breast cancer prevention, management and treatment. UF alumna Dee Dee Ricks (third photo), the keynote speaker at lunch, gave a moving presentation on her philanthropy work for breast cancer patients.

UF Women's mission is to help women connect with each other personally and provide leadership and support to the university in their areas of interest. The Annual All Access Pass symposium is an opportunity for women to engage with others who share the same drive and passion for the University of Florida. By all accounts, this year's event was a smashing success!

UF Young Entrepreneurs

The UF Young Entrepreneurs for Leadership & Sustainability summer program gives college-bound high school students the opportunity to live, work, eat and play on the campus of the University of Florida for five weeks each summer while learning about entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship. The program aims to inspire students to solve social problems and practice sustainability, empowering them to become leaders and change makers.
