Congratulations, Dr. Amara Estrada
Dr. Amara Estrada (Class of 1998) was named a 2006 Outstanding Young Alumnus by the UF Alumni Association. The award was established to recognize Gators who have distinguished themselves in business, community or service and have received a graduate degree within the past 10 years.  This is the first year of the Outstanding Young Alumni award.

Estrada will be honored with other Outstanding Young Alumni during the Spring Weekend Reunion on April 22, 2006.

New department name
Effective December 2, 2005, the Department of Pathobiology was changed to the Department of Infectious Diseases and Pathology. With more emphasis being placed on infectious diseases, especially emerging pathogens and pathology, the broad name, Pathobiology is no longer accurate.
