Looking forward to seeing everyone's great work! Font wins HGTV show Congrats to David Font, LAE 1998, for winning the first season of HGTV's show Brother vs. Brother! In 2001, Font founded David Font Designs as a full-service South Florida design firm that specializes in interior design and landscape design, including golf courses and irrigation plans. A registered landscape architect in Florida and New York with licensure reciprocity privileges in most states, Font is also a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, among several other construction and design industry organizations. Guy Peterson Office of Architecture wins Congratulations to Sarasota-based architecture firm, Guy Peterson OFA, for receiving one of Florida architecture's greatest honors – the 2013 Firm of the Year Award from the American Institute of Architects Florida. This award recognizes outstanding achievement in design, community services, education and service to the profession and the AIA by an architectural firm. "This is a very high honor and we are very proud to have received this recognition," said firm president and UF architecture adjunct associate professor Guy Peterson, FAIA, BDes 1976 and MArch 1978. "This award represents the hard work of both past and present members of our team whom all have contributed to our architecture and commitment to our community and state in both education and service to the profession. We also share this honor with all of the wonderful clients we have been privileged to work with." Cynthia Peterson recognized by the AIA Cynthia Peterson, of architecture firm Guy Peterson OFA, has been recognized with the AIA Florida Bob Graham, Honorary AIA, Architectural Awareness Award. Known as the AIA Florida's highest award for an individual who is not an architect, but by their interest, activity and concern for the profession of architecture, has advanced the cause of good design and planning and/or contributed to the dignity and value of the architectural profession. Peterson is a certified archivist who was the first curator of UF's Architecture Archives. She especially was recognized for her efforts in negotiating an agreement between the UF School of Architecture, Sarasota County and the newly-formed nonprofit, Center for Architecture Sarasota. The Center for Architecture Sarasota (CFAS) building will house the UF CityLab|Sarasota graduate program and will be a community space dedicated to the education of the importance of the built environment. Ramski stays connected to her hometown, passionate about interior design Jennifer Ramski, NCIDQ, IDAF (Interior Design Association of Florida), IND 1978, is a sixth generation Gainesvillian. She also is a P.K. Yonge "lifer," meaning she attended UF-affilated P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School from kindergarten through 12th grade.
