Ed Dumont, BDes 1984, of Dumont Shpata Atelier, was involved with the project, "New Regional Planning Headquarters, Houston, Texas," a renovation and preservation of a mid-century building and new interiors for a development company in Houston, Texas.
AIA Florida Honors Kenneth Treister, FAIA
with 2013 Gold Medal
The Florida Association of the American Institute of Architects (AIA Florida) has named Kenneth Treister, FAIA, BDes 1953, its 2013 Gold Medal recipient. The award is the highest individual honor bestowed by AIA Florida and recognizes those who have made a profound impact on the architectural profession. Treister received the award this past summer at the AIA Florida Convention in Orlando.
"Mr. Treister's activism in the community, passion for beautiful architecture and dedication to the profession has made an extraordinary impact in Florida for more than 50 years," said Peter W. Jones, AIA, Chair of the AIA Florida Awards Program.

LAE students take top honors from FLASLA

This summer landscape architecture students were awarded top honors from the Florida Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects.

SoA Mexico Studio Exhibit

The 16th annual exhibit of student work from the 2013 Mexico Summer Program opened Sept. 16 in the college gallery. Drawing inspiration from the rich cultural landscape of Mexico, the projects from this vertical studio and integrated seminar demonstrate the impact of topography, climate, culture and construction on the design of public space and building tectonics.

Jonathan Antevy, BDes 1993 and BCN 1994, co-founded E-Builder, a cloud-based software for construction program management that makes it simpler for builders and developers to efficiently manage major construction projects and helps reduce costs. He owns the company with his brother, Ron Antevy, BSCE 1991, who serves as president and CEO. E-Builder allows its client to see and manage every detail of a project. |
