Marilyn S. Black (Chemistry Ph.D. '71)
Marilyn S. Black, just received the 2012 Keystone Leadership Award in Environment. She is a leading expert in indoor air quality. She has directed numerous research studies of indoor air pollution and the effect on human health, mold growth in buildings and the impact of indoor furnishings on indoor pollutant levels. Dr. Black wrote the state of Washington indoor air quality standards for new construction, established the emissions test protocols for carpet and flooring products and established the GREENGUARD Certification Program for the selection of environmentally preferred, low-emitting products. Winsome McIntosh (BSBA '66)
Winsome McIntosh gathered with 17 fellow women philanthropists who shared commitment to conservation and together, created a network that would empower others to be more effective funders. Rachel's Network promotes women as impassioned leaders and agents of change dedicated to the stewardship of the earth. It continues to build productive alliances among nearly 100 members who care deeply about the environment, health, and women's empowerment. Read More

Shari L. Sandifer (BSN '88)
As Founder and CEO of Avant Healthcare Professionals, Shari Sandifier keeps busy. When she isn't handling the creation and filling of 35 new positions for multiple healthcare facilities, she is being listed as one of the three finalists from Central Florida for the 2012 Entrepreneur of the Year for Healthcare. She is a member of the Women Impacting Political Policy, American Nursing Association, American Organization of Nurse Executives and STTI. Ms. Sandifer is a Board Member of Orlando, Inc. and serves as a mentor for the Rollins College Center for Advanced Entrepreneurship and Startup Florida. Read More

Jennifer Miller (MD '98)
Imagine the deepest hunger one could ever experience. Not the type of hunger one feels after skipping a meal but a feeling of profound starvation. This is what a young patient with Prader-Willi syndrome, a rare disease that causes insatiable hunger, once said to Jennifer Miller, M.D. '98, an associate professor of pediatrics at the UF College of Medicine. Today, the vivid memory of her patient's impactful statement continues to serve as motivation for Miller, a UF pediatric endocrinologist, who has spent the past 10 years studying Prader-Willi and its effects on its younger victims. Caryn Clark (BA '94)
Caryn is the owner of VoiceChick Productions, LLC. But owning her own production company isn't the coolest part of her job. Caryn is a versatile actress when it comes to her voice and has been heard worldwide on networks like Disney, VH-1, and Nickelodeon just to name a few. In May she announced that she will be the English voiceover for the 2012 London Olympic campaign entitled, "Show Your Best to the World." Read More |

Meet the Association of Asian Alumni Executive Board
The Association of Asian Alumni (AAA) was started in the 2009-2010 school year by undergraduates in the UF Asian American Student Union (AASU). Through perseverance, AASU presented the AAA to the UF Alumni Association and was able to make the AAA an official affiliate group. Diane McFarlin (BSJ '76) has come full circle now that she was recently named the new bean of the College of Journalism and Communications. Diane is currently the publisher of the Herald-Tribune Media Group in Sarasota.
