Sharon is also the Co-Founder of SSG, LLC, a technology transfer company managed by five women at the top of their fields and initially created to build companies in the US and the Middle East/North Africa region of the globe.

We are pleased to bring you the recent work of Leilani Doty, Ph.D., one of our featured speakers at last year's Symposium. In this article, Dr. Doty and her cohorts examine the need of sponsors for women in academic medicine and the benefits that such sponsors can provide. The strong sponsorship programs that have advanced women into corporations' upper levels of leadership can serve as models for sponsorship programs to launch new leaders in academic medicine.
